| F1: Turkish GP in jeopardy after 2010 |

The 2010 Turkish Grand Prix could be the final one in Istanbul after Bernie EcclescakeECCLESTONE, BERNIE
Bernie and Slavica Ecclestone: it's hard to say who looks more uncomfortable. F1 supremo Bernard Charles Ecclestone owns various bits of Formula One and has done since the 1970s, all of which has made him a very rich man. He also co-owns QPR Football Club, which does at least demonstrate that not all his decisions are spot-on. In his time, Ecclestone has managed drivers, owned teams, sold TV rights he probably didn't have in the first place and married someone 28 years younger and 28cm taller than him. He has also developed a slightly bewildering antipathy towards Silverstone. TIGRA 16v: The tooltip with lowered suspension and a racing windscreen wiper, who is apparently short of a bob or two, doubled the price of the contract to keep the race after next year.
Ecclescake's new deal looks set to put an end to the Istanbul race, which was already struggling to attract fans, with official figures for this year's event indicating just 36,000 three-day tickets were sold for the circuit with a capacity for 130,000 fans. This comes as no surprise to dotdotdotcomma who could have told Bernie at the time that Turkey wasn't exactly F1 central, and, in fact, probably did.
It's a funny old world and no mistake where the only half-decent circuit Vermin Milker ever designed is under threat, and all the other shit ones seem to remain.
Fortunately for the Turks, however, while the Istanbul circuit is to be abandoned, the Turkish GP Sponsored By The Old Jokes' Home™ will be moving to a new location as indicated by the headline we copied from iSprout.
