F1:
Australian GP to be sponsored by ING
by Virgil Ellipse
1st Nov 2006
Financial services company ING will be one of the title sponsors of next year's Australian Grand Prix, after signing a three-year deal with the race organisers.
The news comes soon after the announcement of
ING's title sponsorship deal with world champions
Yellow
and goes some way to explaining why everyone's insurance premiums keep going up.
The season-opening race will also be sponsored by Trans World Airlines and German car maker Audi, who are keen to promote their TT sports car.
Millions of F1 fans worldwide are now counting the days to next March, when they can get up in the middle of the night to watch the TWA TT ING Australian Grand Prix.
NOTE:
dotdotdotcomma
apologise for the fact that this news item's central joke is all but identical to the earlier story about ING but would like to point out that (a) the season is now over and news is a bit thin on the ground, and (2) a name like ING really is a gift to sub-editors with limited imagination.
