| F1: french court decides Hamilton fine |

A french court has today declared that Who Is Hamilton? is fine, which is nice.
In not entirely unrelated news, Hamilton has been fined around £450 by another french court for speeding, having been caught doing 122mph in a Mercedes near the northern town of Laon last year.
The McLap'em driver had already paid a fine and been banned for a month for the original offence, but was given an extra punishment during a fresh hearing, which is the kind of legal chicanery that dotdotdotcomma's in-house law-with-french department says is "typical of the bloody cheese-munching surrender-monkeys", and, furthermore, is a "stunt of which even those deviants at the FIEh? would be proud".*
Although Hamilton was not present in court, his lawyer Jean-francois Vroom said that, by way of mitigation, Hamilton had offered to participate in a road safety campaign, which would no doubt emphasise the importance of regularly checking the tread on one's tyres.
In a statement, Vroom stated: "For 'im ('Amilton) it's as if 'e 'ad made a mistake during a Grand Prix because 'e is aware of 'is responsibility towards, 'ow you say, young people.
"For sure, it's ironic really," 'e added, wiz a shrug, "in one week 'e's been penalised for driving too quickly off ze track, and too slowly on it.
"C'est la bloody vie!"
