A1GP: Beaker fastest out of the box at Lausitz	by Mathias Olaf Uncertain 7th Oct 2005

Team GBH's Rob Beaker set the fastest lap time in first free practice for the second round of the A1 Grand Prix of Nations World Cup of Motorsport at the Eurospeedway in Lausitz, Germany this morning, at his first visit to the circuit. The plucky Brit's best time was a whole two eighty-sevenths of a second (just under half a smidge) quicker than frenchman with flair Nicolas Lapierre, with Brazilian Jo Brand's Snatch double-winner Half-Nelson Piquet a mere eight ninety-thirds of a second behind the gaulois. Hauptjunge Tam O'Shanter has laid his towel out in a distant fourth place, they said, trying to be as disparaging as possible about the Germans for no reason at all. Team Austrilia must be rueing their lack of will-power, with oh-god-not-another-son-of-a-famous-racing-driver Christian Names exactly at the other end of the grid to the position favoured by his immediate past predecessor from the previous round.
