A1GP:
Britain wins at last!
by Mathias Olaf Uncertain
26th Mar 2007
2006 Global British County F3 Local International World Series Runner Up
Cocker Jarvis
took the chequered flag in Mexico for Team GB, the first ever win in the championship for the team. Jarvis, who won on his second attempt in the series, was standing in for Team GB's regular driver who hasn't won in 15 goes, was delighted with the result which confirmed his position as one of the world's leading young driving talents.
In a nail-biting finish the 23-year-old from Cambridgeshire took the chequered flag in the Feature race on the streets of Mexico City, with the USA finishing in their best ever position twenty twenty-nineths of a second behind.
Commenting on Great Britain's first ever win in A1GP, Oliver Jarvis said: "I want to say a big thank you to the team. They worked so hard and I am delighted to be up here."
He went on to say: "I think there's one person who will be delighted for the team as he knows more than anyone else how hard they work. He would have loved to be on that winning step but he would be happy for us as that is the sort of attitude in the team, we work as one and hopefully will be able to continue bringing in the results, so I'd especially like to thank
Rob Beaker
."
"Who?" responded the assembled journalists.
