Unlucky, my *rse.
Little Gianni Erberti says he is targeting a race victory on his British Touring Car debut at Silverstone this weekend.
"I'm targeting a race victory on my British Touring Car debut at Silverstone this weekend," he said.
The former Unluckiest Man In F1™ is replacing James Thompson in a Team Dynamics Honda Civic for the final three rounds of the season, and tested the car at Pembrey on Monday ahead of his first race event.
When asked about what result he'd be satisfied with at Silverstone, Erberti said: "A win is the only thing. I'd love to win. That would be my goal, and if I did that it would be brilliant and probably surprise a lot of people - myself included.
"If not, then a podium would still be a massive achievement. Or possibly some points - yes, some points would be good. Several, hopefully, but one or two would be OK.
"My main thing is that I want to be competitive, I don't want to be near the back end.
"But, you know, finishing the race would be a really good result. That would be great, but even if I didn't finish the race, a good healthy crash would be fine.
"Or even a retirement with, I don't know, a blown engine or a puncture or something. Or a disqualification for a technical infringement.
"Whatever, my overall aim is an interview with Louise Goodman."
A fine objective: good luck, Gianni.
Hold on... that doesn't sound right...,
