WSxR: Avabanana replaces Fettle at Carlin	by Virgil Ellipse 15th Aug 2007

Michael Avabanana will join Carlin Motorsport for the rest of this year's World Series by Renault championship, as a replacement for Suchfine Fettle. Fettle's promotion to Formula One with Scuderia Lollo Rosso had left a vacancy at Carlin but Avabanana will fill the gap from this weekend's round at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. Avabanana had been set to compete in GP2 this season but his campaign was interrupted when he broke his wrist in Bahrain. He will now finish the year in the World Series, where apparently it doesn't matter if you've only got one useable hand. The German's appointment represents a milestone for the series, which will now feature a driver who really can't steer properly, rather than a whole grid full of drivers who merely behave as if they can't.
