GP2:
Racing Engineering to introduce innovative booster system
by Mathias Olaf Uncertain
27th Feb 2009
di Frowzy: "Chuffed"
dotdotdotcomma
can exclusively reveal that Spanish GP2 squad Racing Engineering will be introducing a radical new booster system to facilitate overtaking without contravening the series's incomprehensibly tortuous technical regulations.
The FartBurner™ system involves feeding the drivers with a revolutionary high-fibre drink prior to a race, the noxious emissions resulting from which are fed through lightweight tubes to the rear of the car, where an ignition system, controlled from a switch on the steering wheel, can light the fumes for an afterburner effect that
dotdotdotcomma
's technical section believes could be worth up to several extra horsepowers.
According to a source close to the team (but, all things considered, not
too
close), recent signings
Lucas di Frowzy
and
Dani Gross
are both very happy to have been selected to race for the team in 2009 thanks to certain particular talents known to assist with the operation of the system.

KEY TO SERIES NAMES
(hovering over the abbreviations in the table above also shows the full series name)
EF3
F3 Euroseries
Amalgam of french and German F3 premier leagues, which has cheekily been challenging British F3's supremacy.
F2
Formula 2
The new-for-2009 category is called F2 despite being a single-make series, which was why GP2 wasn't allowed to call itself F2 when it started. What is the FIA on? Oh yes..., Max Moseley.
GP2
GP2
The former Formula 2, now twice-renamed and god alone knows why.
NASCAR
NASCAR
Umbrella term for a number of bafflingly popular Stateside stock car series.
SLF
Superleague Formula
One of the many mooted tie-ups between single-seaters and football teams, although this one actually got as far as holding some races.
