| BF3C: Donington British F3 race postponed |

The Cooper Tires (sic)™ British F3 International World Series Championship Trophy's annual visit to Donington Park has been postponed due to ongoing issues with the circuit's track licence.
These "ongoing issues" generally revolve around the fact that it hasn't got one, because of safety concerns over construction work for the British Grand Prix in 2010.
The news comes as some relief to dotdotdotcomma who hadn't quite got around to organising a trip to the event, originally scheduled for April 25/26, and will, in any event, be in Norfolk at the time, for reasons that haven't quite been fathomed out yet.
The building of an access tunnel has dramatically reduced the run-off on either side of the track between McLeans and Coppice, and the MSA has insisted that work is done to make the area safe for racing before granting Donington its licence.
dotdotdotcomma is surprised at the MSA's position, as he can't imagine how anyone could possibly need extensive run-off in this area, because, surely, nobody carries too much speed into this area from the run up from that now legendary confidence lift at the Old Hairpin.
Furthermore, he can't believe that ubiquitous track designer German Talker can possibly have sacrificed his usual obsession with safety and massive run-off areas for something as trivial as an access tunnel.
British F3 series boss Superman Kal-el has stated that the Donington round would be postponed rather than cancelled if the circuit could not obtain its licence in time, and a provisional date has been pencilled in for the weekend of July 18/19 - the same weekend as the World Touring Car Championship's visit to Brands Hatch.
dotdotdotcomma is in two minds about this clash. On the one hand that means deciding between F3 at its favourite track and the new F2, but on the other hand it will mean fewer BMW-obsessed anoraks at the F3 venue.
