Is it just me, or is the coincidence of P1's news and Lotus's news a bit too much of a coincidence?
The well-respected World Series by Renault team, which evolved from the formidable Swoony F3 squad, has moved into new premises at the Hethel Enterprise Centre - formerly the headquarters of Lotus - at the same time as Lotus, thanks to their parent company Proton, announce their intention to buy LBW out of F1.
Adam 'OK' CorralCARROLL, ADAM
Adam Carroll at his best: celebrating victory with his face covered up. An Ulsterman who is simultaneously the most talented, the least attractive and the worst funded driver in whichever series he happens to be racing at the time, and boy, have there been a few of those. On an average weekend, he'll scrape together just enough money at the last minute, turn up to race something he's never sat in before and then claim a podium first time out. Quite why he has so much trouble finding sponsorship completely baffles us but we'd suggest perhaps a change of manager and maybe some cosmetic surgery. TIGRA 16v: The tooltip with lowered suspension and a racing windscreen wiper in a Lotus F1 car? Yes, please!
Roly da Vinci-Code must be rubbing his hands with glee, while any recently former Lotus owners of one's acquaintance must be kicking themselves firmly in the shins.
It probably is just me.
