FfSA cancels 2009 french Grand Prix

The french motorsports federation announced on Wednesday that it will not promote the race in 2009 due to financial difficulties.
"The Federation francaise du Sport Automobile has decided to cancel the Grand Prix of france," said the FFSA in a statement. "This is for reasons relating to the financial situation and where our capital has been invested."
A replacement could be announced later this week by the Icelandic Motorsports Association.
The cancellation of the french GP leaves the 2009 calendar with 17 races after the Canadian Grand Prix was also absent from the schedule, and with 2 fewer grands prix on the schedule,
