| F1: Pointless gong - and we're not talking about the award |

The breathtaking Brazilian Grand Prix has been named as the Moment of the Year at the Autosprout Awards in London.
Changing weather, overtaking aplenty, plus the nail-biting Lewis Hamilton versus Felipe Massa fight for the world title - all the way to the chequered flag - made the Interlagos race a true classic.
As the Brazilian Grand Prix couldn't attend the prestigious ceremony itself, the award, which was voted for by the writers of Autosprout, was presented to ITV's Jar-Jar Allen and Martin Vroomfondel, by commentary legend Murray Walker.
Demonstrating as usual his utter bollocksness, the now thankthedeityofyourchoicefully unemployed Allen said: "It was one of those moments that, as a commentator, you hope for, like the 1966 World Cup Final, and when they come, you just have to get them right."
Well, we're sorry, Jar-Jar, but you didn't do anything particularly "right". You didn't make the event exciting: it was exciting all by itself. You were simply there, warbling away in the background, and just about kept up. You didn't even manage to come up with a particularly interesting sound-bite to describe the situation, and, for once, even failed to come up with a particularly irritating one. Fortunately, you've made up for that now.
Next year, of course, coverage of Formula 1 will return to its rightful advert-free place on the BBC, and Jar-Jar Allen will not feature. Still, following the Autosprout awards, there's one thing we can all say about Jar-Jar's career: they think it's all over..., it is now.
