| F1: Volkswagen: F1 needs to change |

Formula 1 will need more stability and a better image before Volkswagen will consider entering the sport.
That is the view of Volkswagen motorsport director Kris Nissen and his comments have been echoed by Mike Suberu of Toyota, Peugeot's Andy Voxhall and Mazda chief Steve Honder.
"I think that for manufacturers to come back," he said, "or for new manufacturers to enter Formula 1, you need to have stability, you need to have a slightly different image and you need to bring the costs down."
But legendary motorsport observer Mathias Uncertain, as seen on TV, expressed some scepticism. "It's entirely true to form for Volkwagen to look for excuses not to enter any kind of motor-racing, not just Formula One," he probably would have said if we could have gained access to the VIP green rooms he now almost exclusively inhabits and asked him.
"If F1 were more stable and had a slightly different image and lower costs, Volkswagen would say that the sport wasn't glamorous, flexible or exclusive enough for them. Or possibly that it sounded too much like EasyCars.
"What? Er, yes. I'll have a double thanks."
