F1: Comebacker seeks blocking clarification by Virgil Ellipse
30th Mar 2010
In a development of the most exquisite irony, it has come to the attention of dotdotdotcomma that Michael Comebacker "sought clarification" from FIEh? race director Charlie Whiting about driving standards in Melbourne, feeling that he had been blocked during qualifying.

The Mercedes GP driver was unhappy that his efforts to out-qualify his team-mate (ultimately unsuccessful, again) were compromised when both Fernando Alonsulk and Lewis Homegrown got in his way.

"I had a conversation with Charlie about it," explained the German, "because I wanted to know what are the guidelines here and whether the rules have changed a little bit to what they used to be.

"If you sit behind, you are trying your best, which I am doing at the moment, and then somebody slows you down, it is not very comfortable."

How times change. And how some people never do.
