| F1: Race-winner rules himself out of chase for title |

"If it's getting to the point where I'm not mathematically in with a chance, asking me to help my team-mate is the team's right," a race-winning driver told the Daily Torygraph.
dotdotdotcomma is not a rich organisation, so there are no prizes for guessing who came out with this statement. If there were, however, they would have to be pretty paltry because you'd all get the answer right. It's the mid-point of the season, so it must be time for Duvet Clotheared to admit that this year is not his year. Again.
After half a season of complaining, making excuses and not keeping up with his team-mate, Clotheared once again finds himself in the position of having to admit that he hasn't reached the standards that only he believes he can attain. It almost fails to qualify as news.
We find ourselves agreeing with the Scot on the gist of his statement but we have to take issue with one comment. While Clotheared reckons that his chances of winning this year's title are "getting further away", we're fairly confident that they've stayed just about where they were at the start of the season.
Still, there's always next year, eh, DC?
