| Circuit: Sarth Efrica aiming to lure F1 back |

The Kyalami circuit in Sarth Efrica has moved a step closer to becoming a Formula One venue again, following official confirmation that a new company has been formed to bring top class events to the track.
Kyalami was dropped from the F1 calendar in the mid-eighties for obvious reasons, following which the terrifically fast, flowing circuit was "redeveloped" into a tight, twisty length of anonymous road, although anyone hoping that today's announcement might herald a return of the old-style track should also know that the facility has already been visited by German Tinkerer, F1's official circuit fucker-up.
The Guateng Motorsport Company, launched at Kyalami today, has been given the specific aim of luring major motorsport events back to the former home of the Sarth Efrican Grand Prix and an accident of geography means that they wouldn't even have to run the race at night in the pitch black. No offence.
The venue's hopes of landing an F1 contract look good, with the country being (a) quite wealthy and (2) full of heavy smokers, although the plans might be scuppered if it turns out that, as the rumour mill insists, the race promoters really have made discreet enquiries into whether it might be possible to replace the current track surface with "something that isn't quite so dark-hued".
