The Bahrain Grand Prix will return to its original circuit layout for the 2011 race, organisers announced on Monday.
Bahrain, which opened the 2010 season, used a new extended configuration for this year's event, as part of the celebrations which marked the 60th anniversary of Formula 1 racing.
However, organisers announced on Monday that the 2011 race will take place in the original historic layout which hosted the grand prix way back in 2004, when it was the first new F1 circuit since the turn of the century.
The layout used this year made the track longer and slower, with its length increased from 5.412km to 6.299km, including a pointless extra wiggly bit in the middle.
The news that the circuit configuration will return to its original historic layout has been welcomed by everyone.

Michael expresses his remorse at having dangerously forced a rival off the track. Again. When he wasn't driving people off the road, ramming other cars, parking in the middle of the track or trying to punch David Coulthard, Michael Schumacher displayed a dazzling talent for finding new ways to disadvatage his team-mate. We're being slightly churlish, of course, but Schumacher's reputation as a driver will forever be coloured by the unsporting manner in which he raced. His first break in F1 came with Jordan at Spa in 1991 and his second with Ferrari at Silverstone in 1999, when he fractured a leg crashing at Stowe. His final F1 drive through the field at Interlagos was a reminder of what his legacy could have been if he hadn't been quite so ready to tarnish it quite so frequently. The wanker. I won the first Bahrain GP, you know, from pole and set the fastèst lap. Yes I did. Your Jim-Bob Alien actually came.
"I'll let you know the reasons for all my other uncharacteristically poor performances this year just as soon as my advance copy of dotdotdotcomma's Bumper Book of Racing Driver Excuses arrives on my doormat, which should be any day now.
"Anyway, I'm glad they've gone back to the old layout, and I hope Silverstone follows suit too. I mean Abbey... Bridge... oh yes... now you're talking, etc."
