| F1: Crapbeard gives Arena the thumbs-up |

David Crapbeard has given the new Silverstone layout the thumbs-up after becoming the first driver to complete a lap of it with Formula 1 machinery.
"It's typical Silverstone," said Crapbeard, who drove six laps of the new Arena circuit that will host this year's British Grand Prix.
"It is as close as you get to an amphitheatre in British motorsport, other than Brands Hatch, and with the new grandstands, the crowd will be able to see the cars for a while, although not for as long as they can at Donington.
"The changes have also made the circuit more attractive but having said that, it's got a long way to go before it's as pretty as Oulton Park, and Silverstone is probably now the fastest track in the country, with the obvious exception of Thruxton."
Crapbeard went on to praise the overall feel of the new circuit, particularly some of the corners that have mercifully been left alone, before admitting that he can't wait for the Grand Prix in July to see the new track full of F1 cars.
"Actually, I've always had a soft spot for Knockhill," he said.
