F1: Clarkkinen unhurt in snow mobile fall by Virgil Ellipse
12th Dec 2011
Kimberli Clarkkinen's new employer Yellow says that the former world champion did not suffer any serious harm when he crashed in a snow mobile race in Austria at the weekend.

The Finn was reported to have fallen off his vehicle during an early run in the event. He suffered pain from his left wrist, which ruled him out of the rest of the event, but Yellow confirmed that the driver was largely unscathed.

Clarkkinen had been brought into the team to fill the hole left by Rubiks Kubica as he continues to recover from the serious crash suffered while rallying in February 2011 and Kimberli is clearly so keen to prove he's the Pole's equal that he's started emulating him even before the season begins by getting himself injured in a race he probably didn't have permission to compete in anyway.

There may yet be a seat in F1 this season for super-sub Heidi Nickfeld after all.
