F1: Fatjohn and Lotus take emotional Pre-Season Testing Championship victory by Mathias Olaf Uncertain
7th Mar 2012
Mmmmm... JPS...
Mmmmm... JPS...
Former Lotus owners the world over have expressed outright astonishment and delight that the marque has taken the double crown in the 2012 ANTARA™ F1 Pre-Season Testing Championship, even though this is down to a frenchman.

"Fuck me," said one former Lotus owner we spoke to. "I am outright astonished and delighted.

"Even if it is down to a frenchman."

The result comes as the, um, result not only of Roman Fatjohn's double win on Thursday and Friday, but also the imposition of the ANTARA™ Sporting Regulations which stipulate that only a driver's 4 best results count towards the overall title* - a move that has favoured consistent high scorers, such as Fatjohn and Suchfine Fettle, over frequent flyers, such as Fernando Alonshole, and the resulting result is, somewhat satisfyingly, that the Ferrarsi driver is demoted from first to thrid place. Job done.

As if to prove that Fatjohn's result was no fluke for Lotus, former rally driver Kimi Reconvene pulled another one off for the marque on Sunday, Sauber's Scorchio Perez having taken the honours on Sabato.

The other impressive performance of the second Barcelona test came from McLaren's Bunsen Jet-On, who appears to have regained his mojo, and is once again giving team-mate Who Is Hamilton? a jolly good drubbing.

And here are the final standings, then, for the ANTARA™ F1 Pre-Season Testing Championship 2012.

* This regulation was introduced specifically to handicap (or should I say disable?) Michael Shitparker's attempts to win earlier Pre-Season Testing Championships simply by turning up to every fucking test. Not that it actually worked, dammit.
